Welcome to our website:
Cheer for Children is a non-profit, all volunteer organization in
the South Bay. Every year since 1985, we have hosted seasonal
parties at Harbor UCLA Medical Center for acutely ill children
and their families. We also have parties at Washington and
Jefferson Schools for the physically challenged. Cheer for
Children assists a home for mothers and their children who are
trying to get back on their own.
Cheer for Children also assists local families who are in need of
temporary help with food donations, warm clothing, shoes and
haircut certificates. When other organizations cannot respond
to special and unusual circumstances, it has been our policy to
try to fill this void. Our "adopt-a-family" program enables us to
provide gifts, including toys, clothes and food, shoe
certificates, and gas cards at Christmas time to the entire
families in need.

Well, the 2009 Holiday season came and went and we are already
working hard to make things happen for 2010. But we can't do it alone.
We make it each year with the help of our wonderful volunteers and
people in the community who donate their time, money, food, toys and
so much more. We find each year that the people in the South Bay are
the most generous around. Because of you, there is a little more joy in
the life of a child and their family who wouldn' t have otherwise had a
Christmas. With the U.S. Economy as it is, we have even more families
than ever who need our help this year. As hard as we try, we can't help
them all, but with people in our community who adopt a family, and
donate time, money, certificates, food and toys, we hope to help as
many as possible. We also hope to see some of you in the coming
months join us in our meetings and volunteer your time for some of our
